Birthday: March 31, 1952
Occupation: Sales Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 4 From Dave: My family and I (Cheryl Normandin, love of my life, and children) have wondered down to Ohio, out to Colorado, back to Ohio and finally back to Michigan. As tough as it is there is something good about Michigan. We are "corporate refugees", and "self employed survivors". Having tried a # of occupations, we both have settled into rather unassuming positions, (Cheryl-yoga teacher/massage therapist; me-kitchen design/sales) under the guise of simplifying our lives... Ha! One thing I know. Its all about the kids and grandkids!!!! Four of each. When I start talking about them..please just stop me. Love, David |

Occupation: Commercial Real Estate
Website: www.cousino1970.com Marital Status: Single From Vic: There is not enough space or time for me to list everything I have done over the last 40 years. After school I wasted a lot time at Macomb playing Foos Ball with Ralph Pinto and playing touch football in the courtyard between C & D buildings with Jim Cooke. Jim and I did not do much in class but we rarely got beat in touch football. That said, I did try out for the Macomb soccer team in the fall team of 1970. I never played soccer in my life but I had good hands so I made the team as a goalie and as a defenseman. We went on to win the Regional Championship and were one of the few teams to go to the Junior College National Championship in Miami, Florida. We did not win the tournament but we did end up being ranked 7th in the nation. Not bad for a bunch of kids from Detroit. I stayed in the area for about 10 years after CHS and cooked at some of the finest restaurants in the Detrot area. I first work for Chef Douglas Grech at the Great Dane and later at his other restaurant Douglas Douglas. After that, I went to work for Chef Aldo at his restaurant Aldo's, known to have the finest Italian food in the city at that time. I was accepted at the prestigious culinary school the CIA in Hyde Park, New York, but due to the expensive tution I could not attend. I continue working at Aldo's until I left for South Florida in 1980. I believe I took off to Ft. Lauderdale because of my experience in Miami when I competed in the Junior College Nationaal Championship. Once I arrived in Ft. Lauderdale I immediatly opened up a pizza stand on the lauderdale strip and did that for a few years until I one of my customers said they wanted me to send me to a Series 7 class to become a bond/stock broker for his investment company. Not sure why I took the offer but I did take the course, passed the test on the first try, which from what I understand is very hard to do. That said, after 6 months in the business I came to the conclusion that industry was not for me. Too many crooks. From that point forward, which covers about 30 years I have found myself involved in more occupations than 10 people find themselves in a lifetime. I seem to get bored very easily and I always like a new challenge. I approached the NFL and received two different product licenses for apparel, which led me to make a video and other apparel items for the Miami Dolphins. It also got me one of my favorite trips. A trip to Hong Kong to source out a manufacture to make the NFL licensed products. While in Hong Kong, I also went to Tokyo, which is one of my more memorable trips. I then was hired as the assistant to the President for the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. Mission Bay was the training center for Olympic Swimmers and Divers. Some of the great Olympians that trained there were Greg Louganis, Matt Biondi, Dara Torres, Pablo Morales and many from other countries like Germany, Japan, Australia, etc. This was probably my most favorite job. Unfortunately, due to the lack of funds, Mission Bay was only open for 5 years. After Mission Bay, I developed a line of clothing for the Pete Rose Ballpark Cafe located in Boca Raton. After a year at this location, I was recruited by Don Shula, Hall of Fame coach of the Miami Dolphins to do the same at his restaurant and hotel in Miami Lakes, FL. Then after a few years at the Don Shula Hotel and Golf Club, I worked with a partner on developing a small BBQ restaurant called Red's Backwoods BBQ in Boca Raton, FL. In 1999, I took on the job of being the Director of Merchandising for the Women's World Cup. Yes, the one that Mia Hamm and the girls won. During this year, I had to leave my home in Florida and work in the Empire State Building. Working in NYC for one full year was also a very memorable time in my life. It was Great!!!. Then after the Women's World Cup, I put two people together on a fairly large real estate deal. I was told by the Buyer and Seller they would pay me a nice commission if I had a real estate license. Of course I did not have one, so I took a 7 day crash course, passed and got my license and the money. I am still in the commmercial real estate business today. There are probably a few more occupations I left out or forgot about but they were nothing exciting. About 5 years ago I got hooked on kayaking and I try to go as much as possible. I travel to Oregon and Maine each year just to go kayaking. I hoping one day to be good enough at it to do a kayaking/camping trip in Baja, Mexico with friends of mine that go every year. I still like to cook and eat at great restaurants and I tried to travel as much as I can each year. I have been to 46 of the 50 states and most the major cities in Canada. I do have plans to go to Australia in 2011 to visit some relatives. Some of my favorite cities are San Francisco, Montreal, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Portland, ME, Boston, Philly and of course NYC. Well, I am sure in a week or two I remember a few things I forgot. The one thing I will never forget, is the great time I had at our 40th reunion. Take care Vic PS: My now pic is of me and Keith Matro at the Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday night during our 40th Reunion weekend. What a great time. |
