RE: Class of 1970 - 40th Reunion.

DATE: July 23, 24 and 25 - 2010

Dear Fellow Classmates of 1970:

This is Vic Rose and I am excited to have been nominated to work on our 40th High School Reunion. Well, let me say that Ed Davis and Ralph Pinto just told me it was in my hands. Though I got lucky because I now have Cathy Iatonna and Dee Fortucci supporting my efforts and I am sure Cathy and Dee will be instrumental in making sure this will be a reunion to remember.

After I sent out pics of the 1969 reunion I recently attended I was contacted by quite a few classmates stating they would like to attend a reunion next year for the Class of 70. After 40 years, wouldn't it be great to get together and share stories of the past, present and create stories for the future?

During the past four weeks, Cathy, Dee and myself have been working diligently trying to contact as many classmates as possible. We are happy to announce that the response we have received has been very positive. In addition, we have spent countless hours contacting venues and working on ideas to create event much different from those in the past.

The CHS 40th Reunion will be designed not only to reunite the Class of '70 but also to serve as a mini vacation for those traveling from out of town and/or a stay vacation for those who live in the Metropolitan area.

For those who wish to check into the Marriott Renaissance Center a day early, it will begin on Friday July 23rd, 2010 with a Free Concert on the Detroit Riverfront and/or a Tiger game.  We believe this gives everyone a choice to select an activity specific to their liking.  After these two events, you will have the option of filling the remainder of the day/evening at Hockeytown Cafe, the Marriott Hotel Bar, Andiamo's Restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe, Greek Town, any one of the 3 Casinos or taking a Riverboat Cruise, offered between 10pm and 2am.

On Saturday, July 24th, you can join friends and wander about the city, take a visit to Eastern Market, walk along the newly renovated River Walk, have lunch in Greektown or try your luck at one of the Casinos. The Main Event will begin at 6pm and go to 12am.  Afterwards you will have the option to take the party to the Marriott Bar, Greektown, a Casino or back up to your rooms.

Finally, on Sunday morning, July 25th, you can schedule a breakfast with your closest friends or take in one last Tiger Game at 1:05pm before departing the City.

We think this one Central Location, with a variety of activites lasting the entire weekend, will provide not only quality time to spend together, but many options to suit everyones indivdual tastes.

For those who have never been to a reunion, you will be surprised that even though 40 years have gone by, it is just like yesterday once you start talking to one of your former classmates. The stories are many and they go on forever...like turning back the hands of time. A reunion is to bring all of us together again to share all the great times we all had from 1967 to 1970 and to catch up on what we've done since then. I do not want anyone not to attend because they feel they have not accomplished what others might have. Also, we "all" have gained a few pounds and have more grey hair or less hair so don't let that get in the way either. That is not what a reunion is about. We want all of you to show up and have a great time.

When I got together with Ed Davis, Ralph Pinto, Rich Hays, Terry Bell, Dave Konke, Linda Abraham, Denise Sidelko, Jan Mills, Dena Lee, Lois Dobrash and others, at the recent 1969 reunion, we just talked about the old days. None of us cared who was doing what today. It was all about the three (3) great years we all shared together walking down the halls and in the classrooms of Cousino High School. Those were the days when none of us had a care in the world.  We just got up each morning and went to school and enjoyed life.  Well at this recent reunion, we all got to experience the same great feelings as we did back at Cousino. Let me tell you, for those couple days, we all forgot about whatever was going on in our lives today and that was a wonderful feeling!

Come join your '70 Cousino Alumni & LETS MAKE THIS AN UNFORGETABLE EVENT!
